In this new era of technology and environment, does it require a new education system, or specifically - "new teachers". How can a teacher become a "new teacher," an effective educational leader?
To answer these questions, yesterday afternoon (06/06/2020), Vietnam - France Psychology Institute, in collaboration with Brendon Bilingual Primary School and Western Hanoi School, organized a training session for the teaching staff of these two educational institutions on "Management and Leadership," with lectures by Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thi My Loc. The main content of the training session includes:
Fundamental issues in management work:
With enthusiastic interaction from the teaching staff, the training session clarified issues such as whether teachers need to study management, the concept and role of a manager, and the general skills and knowledge of a manager.
Competencies of successful managers:
The three main competency groups of a manager in general, and teachers - educational managers in particular, are: cognitive capacity, job-related skills, and interpersonal skills.
Effective school management methods:
To manage a school effectively, a manager needs certain skills and knowledge about managing people (time, emotions, health, etc.), organizational management (resources, environment, quality, etc.), and the most important skill is managing change.
Through the training session, it is hoped that the teaching staff of Brendon Bilingual Primary School and Western Hanoi Comprehensive School will gain valuable knowledge to develop themselves and strive to become enthusiastic and psychologically driven educational leaders. From there, they can build a truly happy school for themselves, their colleagues, and especially for the students.
