Talkshow "Knocking On The Door To The Teenage World: ‘Speak To Get Heard, Listen To Get Voiced’”

The role of psychology has been recognized in helping students overcome behavioral and learning issues. With the development of society, the living, learning, and training processes of students have provided more opportunities but also contain many disadvantages for their personality development. The need for mental support for the most favorable development is becoming increasingly urgent for the younger generation, yet the practical operation of psychological support from parents and schools for their children is still not widespread. Understanding this need, on October 11th 2020, Nguyen Sieu School, in collaboration with the Vietnam - France Psychology Institute (VFPI), organized a talkshow titled "Knocking On The Door To The Teenage World: ‘Speak To Get Heard, Listen To Get Voiced'”

The Talk Show featured the participation of Dr. Nguyen Thuy Anh, an expert from the VFPI, Ms. Ngo Thi Diep Lan, the Principal of the school, Mr. Tran Viet Cuong, Head of the Parents & Teachers Association, along with teachers and more than 350 parents from various classes.

According to psychological experts, teenagers often have a psychological tendency to assert themselves, while they are entering one of the most difficult stages, especially in terms of communication with themselves. Therefore, if parents do not understand their children, it is very difficult for them to communicate with their children at this age. Therefore, it is not surprising that parents try to talk to their children but seem to be unsuccessful. This is seen as a common challenge for parents when their children reach puberty.

To successfully communicate with teenagers, in addition to love and understanding, parents also need to equip themselves with effective communication skills with their children. Many parents of teenagers reflect that they find it difficult to communicate with their children. Many ordinary children suddenly become stubborn and difficult to manage when they enter puberty. The common reaction is disobedience, opposition, or even doing the opposite of what parents say.

Taking place in an enthusiastic atmosphere with the active interaction of participants, the talkshow successfully answered questions about the psychology of teenagers for parents and ended beautifully.
