Talkshow "Applying Psychology in Business - Developing Leadership Skills"

On December 1, 2020, Vietnam - France Psychology Institute (VFPI) and KisStartup collaborated to organize a talk show titled "Applying Psychology in Business - Developing Leadership Skills". The program marked the conclusion of the series of events "Lunch with Women Entrepreneurs'' within the framework of the project "Developing Women Entrepreneurs: Building a Gender-responsive Business Ecosystem (CWE)" implemented by UNESCAP & the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

As we know, leadership ability determines the development of businesses and significantly influences the mental well-being of female entrepreneurs. Female entrepreneurs are not only women; they are also entrepreneurs facing numerous challenges in the business arena and leadership roles. To protect their mental health, applying business psychology through leadership development plays a crucial role.

The talk show featured two special guests: Mr. Hoang Gia Thu with Doctor Degree of Applied Psychology and Mrs. Do Thuy Duong – an entrepreneur.

Sharing at the talk show, Mrs. Thuy Duong presented ways to motivate employees through personal experiences and her own knowledge in training.

From the perspective of applied psychology, Dr. Hoang Gia Thu shared the current situation of gender disparity in leadership positions, with women occupying a low proportion. The doctor also provided interesting professional insights into the definition of leadership, the difference between developing leaders and developing leadership for an organization as a whole, some leadership styles suitable for women, and the similarities and differences in leadership between men and women.

Additionally, Dr. Hoang Gia Thu analyzed the factors influencing women's career advancement based on scientific research and proposed solutions to overcome barriers for female leaders. The talk show was co-organized by the VFPI and KisStartup as part of the WEWE (Women Entrepreneurs' Wellness) project implemented within the framework of the CWE project by the Ministry of Planning and Investment & UNESCAP.
