SIGNING CEREMONY BETWEEN VFPI AND BRENDON BILINGUAL PRIMARY SCHOOL & WESTERN HANOI SCHOOL

May 20, 2020, marked the official partnership between the Vietnam - France Psychology Institute (VFPI), Brendon Bilingual Primary School (BBPS), and Western Hanoi School (WHS). The ceremony took place at WHS’s school campus. It was attended by The VFPI Director, Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Thị Mỹ Lộc, and other experts from the institute, alongside the Chairman of WHS and CEO of BBPS, Mr. Nguyễn Hoàng Tùng, and Head of WHS, Ms. Lâm Thuý Hoa, and Head of BBPS, Ms. Nguyễn Thị Bích Loan.

This agreement brings together its shareholders to work jointly on mental health initiatives by building the Center for Wellbeing on campus, including prevention training programs, specially designed for managers, educators, teachers, members of staff, parents, and students. VFPI will be supporting these two schools:

• Organizing school-based activities that promote mental health and wellness in both schools’ communities

• Providing training for school counselors and educational psychologists

• Providing prevention training courses for different school groups that include: managers, teachers, parents, and students

• Providing career advice for students and parents

“We put students at the center of all of our educational activities. We hope that professionalism, expertise, and the applicable work provided by the VFPI team will help our teaching staff understand more deeply about our students and provide essential support to our teachers, parents, and students when necessary,” said the WPS representative.

“We are delighted every time we sign a partnership to implement a wellbeing project with a new school because of the lack of recognition of mental health services within the formal educational system here in Vietnam. The Board of Directors at WHS and BBPS not only pay attention to the development of students’ knowledge and physical health but also care much for other well-being aspects of their students. We hope this partnership will support the schools in understanding students better, preventing the risks of ill-being, and building a happy school environment.” said the VFPI representative.

VFPI has provided school psychology services for over 10 educational institute partners in Vietnam, as well as being the policy advisor for the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam.
